History
Worthington Communities of Naples, Inc. developed Vanderbilt Country Club in 1999. The Club’s early records show that in the beginning stages, VCC was referred to as “Vanderbilt Pines”. Worthington Communities, the development and homebuilding company was guided by two partner/principals, Jeff Darragh and John Gnagey. From design to infrastructure, policies to practices, the duo proudly endorsed the community and were dedicated to creating the finest golf and country club living opportunity in the area. Today, we pride ourselves on being the #1 Bundled Community in Southwest Florida. Vanderbilt Country Club is masterfully designed to include a combination of 800 estate homes, villas, carriage homes and condominiums on over 323 acres of shimmering lakes, lush fairways and nature preserves. Our community is also known as a C.I.R.A. (Common Interest Realty Association) development.
Location… Location… Location The Naples area provides a unique blend of upscale neighborhoods and many interesting and historical landmarks. Naples is known for its natural beauty and Vanderbilt Country Club is set among acres of pines, palmettos and cypress trees. Bordering on Vanderbilt Beach Road and Collier Boulevard, Vanderbilt Country Club provides the premier Southwest Florida address. Vanderbilt Beach Road provides easy access to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, as well as shopping, recreation, and entertainment.
A Golfers Paradise! Vanderbilt winds through a 6,848-yard, par 72, 18-hole Gordon G. Lewis Signature golf course. Wide, undulating fairways and mammoth greens are the staples of the layout. While the design is among the finest, the course is creative and challenging, yet designed strictly for pleasure. With five sets of tees on each hole, the Vanderbilt course offers the exciting challenges to both the novice and experienced golfers.

Community Governance The Vanderbilt Community Association will govern all common areas and amenities of the community. Upon 95% completion of the community, complete management of the Association rested with a homeowner represented Board of Directors.
All residents of Vanderbilt have the full use rights to all amenities within the community with the exception of the satellite pool/recreation areas, which are exclusive to the condominium neighborhoods in which they are located.
Secured Access – Vanderbilt has two access points, which are controlled by the use of a gatehouse at the main entrance on Vanderbilt Beach Road and an automatic gate at the access point on Collier Boulevard. The main entrance gatehouse was completed in January 1999 and is staffed on a 24-hour basis.
Something for Everyone In addition to Vanderbilt Country Club, Darragh and Gnagey developed Lexington Country Club, which contains more than 1,400 residences on over 450 acres in South Fort Myers. Darragh was instrumental in the development and build out of Worthington Country Club in Bonita Springs. Other local communities of affiliation include Quail Creek, Longshore Lake and Bonita Bay.
The developers held “Opening Day” on January 4, 1999. We’re told that the week prior to opening day “it rained like hell”, so much rain in fact that the cart path on holes #16 and #17 fell into the lake and holes #10 & #11 couldn’t be used because they were under water. If it wasn’t for that ole reliable Florida sunshine, we probably wouldn’t have been able to sell out as quickly as we did. The residential community sold out within 2 ½ years!
The Vanderbilt Country Club complex includes a 22,825 square-foot clubhouse complex, which holds a myriad of services and activities. Both fine and casual dining is offered within the dining room, grille room and lounge. The clubhouse can also be utilized for meetings, banquets and private events.
A full time activities director arranges resident gatherings such as theme dinner dances, off-site excursions, games and other planned activities throughout the year.
Sports and fitness facilities in the country club complex includes a fitness center, six lighted Har-Tru Hydro-Grid tennis courts, a heated swimming pool/spa/cabana with a beverage pavilion and locker rooms.
A variety of golf and tennis equipment is available in the pro shop, run by a PGA professional accompanied by a USPTA professional.
Automatic Club Membership As a Vanderbilt homeowner, membership to the Country Club is included with each purchase and there is no initiation fee.
